Set for fully automatic watering of up to 12 plants

Standard set for 3 balcony boxes, but also for watering other planters or individual plants in the garden. Connection is via a high tank.

Planning:

It is important to determine the required number of Tropf-Blumat and assign them accordingly. For balcony boxes, calculate 4 drip points (Tropf-Blumat) per 100 cm box length (box width 20 cm) and 3 drip points for 80 cm length. As a general rule, each plant/pot receives 1 Tropf-Blumat – this applies to pots up to 20 cm in diameter; 2 Tropf-Blumat are sufficient for pots up to 40 cm, and 3 Tropf-Blumat for pots up to 50 cm. For plants in beds, 2 plants receive 1 Tropf-Blumat, provided that the distance between them is no greater than 20 cm. Sometimes 1 Tropf-Blumat is sufficient for a group of 3 plants.

Hose system / installation:

The principle is simple: the 8 mm supply hose is laid close to the plants over the pots or along the balcony box; at the point where a Tropf-Blumat is to be installed, the supply hose is cut and the T-piece is inserted. The Tropf-Blumat is connected to the T-piece with a 3 mm drip hose, which is led to the plant. A high-mounted container (tank) is required for operation, which generates a minimum pressure of 100 cm water column (more is better) from the top of the pot (top of the Tropf-Blumat) to the bottom of the container, possibly reduced to 70 cm. The high tank connection (hose connection plug) is mounted at the bottom of the container, approx. 5 cm above the container base (12 mm hole). The supply hose should be laid as evenly as possible with few branches and no significant differences in height in order to minimise overall pressure loss. Insufficient pressure can easily cause blockages.

• 3 m balcony box (box length 100 cm or 80 cm)
• 1.2 m² bed planting (approx. 24 medium-sized plants)
• 12 individual pots up to approx. 20 cm pot size
• 12 individual plants in a greenhouse, such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers
