Grove Bags' incredible active moisture control combines with antimicrobial properties to create a super-effective packaging solution that utilises low oxygen levels to create an ideal curing climate.The Terploc™ technology that underpins Grove Bags comprises six unique high-barrier films with basic permeability properties, designed expressly for dry herbs but also suitable for foods and nuts. All unwanted gases and water vapour are actively channelled through the film barriers, creating a mould-free environment in which the quality of your material is cured and preserved.
This multi-layered approach ensures that your herbs always receive maximum protection. The first layer is the preservation layer, which protects the dry herb material with a thick, puncture-resistant layer that helps to ensure that the carefully controlled climate is safe during transport/delivery. The next layer provides odour protection. Next is the oxygen layer, which is designed to create and maintain low oxygen levels and limit the oxidation of terpenes. The oxygen layer protects against weight loss and maintains the efficiency of your product. Next comes the anti-static layer, a crucial element as many plastics create static charges that can remove essential properties from the dried herbs, this layer ensures that the terpenes stay in your products and not on the packaging. Next, the moisture barrier, together with the oxygen layer, provides active moisture control. Low oxygen levels slow down the respiration process, allowing excess water vapour that forms in the top of the Grove Bag to escape through the packaging and prevent mould from forming. Finally, the Terploc™ UV film layer in combination with the opaque packaging provides excellent protection against harmful UV rays. UV degrades organic material quickly, which means that the compounds in the material are broken down, reduced and weakened.
When do I use a Grove Bag?
Grove Bags are specially designed for curing and storage. It is not possible to dry wet flowers in a Grove Bag. With TerpLoc technology, the optimum moisture content for the start of curing is between 10 and 12 %. If the moisture content is outside this range, this can encourage mould growth and affect the terpene profile of the strain. Once the flowers have dried, Grove Bags can stabilise its microclimate consistently between 58 and 62% relative humidity (RH). In most cases, a humidity level of 11 per cent is achieved after 10 to 14 days of drying.
Fill the bag to 75%, the remaining 25% should be left empty to ensure the free space required for the TerpLoc™ technology to function.
