For a really accurate calibration use these solutions at 25° C and never keep an opened bottle for more than 6 months. The useage of pH 7 buffer on its own would be enough to get reliable readings from most handheld pH pens, but for an optimal accuracy - mostly associated with advanced monitors like the Bluelab Guardian - you will want to create a second calibration point by also applying pH 4 buffer.
