The Tropf-Blumat Maxi functions as a regulator and dripper like the standard Tropf-Blumat, but is only suitable for use with containers that are at least 30 cm high (pot size 30 cm or planting depth 30 cm). The insertion depth is 15-18 cm.
With the Tropf-Blumat Maxi, the moisture of plants with deeper root balls can now be better felt and regulated near the roots. Watering is less frequent but more intensive, and the surface remains drier. Typical applications are larger tub plants and solitary plants in troughs, on terraces and roof gardens, as well as individual solitary shrubs in the garden.
For installation, a hole is usually pre-drilled or pre-punched and the clay cone is slurried in (see instructions for use) to ensure good contact with the soil.
