Grodan Rockwool Big Block with ø 20 mm + 40mm hole
As the blocks are pH neutral, they should be soaked to a pH of 5.5 - 5.8 before use. Ideal air-water balance and strong root growth throughout the block. Place the fully rooted propagation cubes in the hole and when the block is rooted you can place it on the Grodan board.
Grodan rockwool is spun from molten rock into fine fibres and then pressed into shapes such as cubes, blocks or slabs. Grodan has a unique position in the market because it produces different types of fibres, unlike other manufacturers who cut everything from one big bale of rockwool. In this way, Grodan aims to support the needs of plants at every stage of planting. Because of these special fibres, Grodan rockwool is able to absorb large amounts of nutrient solution while having a structure that provides plenty of oxygen for faster plant growth.
Grodan is available in standardised sizes. Cuttings started in cubes can easily be transplanted into larger blocks and then onto the plates, or they can also be transplanted into other growing media such as soil or coco.
